The Hillsboro Transit Center adds that and more to this busy Nashville, TN, street with its seamless design by ARTifice LLC and professional installation by Alexander Metals, Inc.
Sent as a complete kit to Alec Estes and the crew at Alexander Metals, check out how our Narrowline® canopy system is built around a sleek aluminum T rafter with excellent span capacity, extruded gutters, and glass butt joints that are aligned with the structural purlins. We love how Narrowline is working in harmony with accompanying components, such as Vitro’s Azuria glass.
The glass provides a pop of color and reduced solar heat radiation, perfect for these hot summers, making it cooler for passengers patiently waiting. When we were there it was about 95 degrees – standing below the canopy felt about 15 degrees cooler. During other seasons, the sloped glass is engineered to prevent water ponding on rainy days; a win-win all year round.
We had fun collaborating on the design details, specifications, and coordinating the construction approach. It was an important project for the Nashville area and we’re proud to help deliver a more functionable space for the community transit system.
